The Sportscover Altura 2012 Race Team was launched at Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel in West Yorkshire on Saturday. With over 100 guests the evening was a great occasion hosted by Team Manager Ashley Brown.

Altura sponsored rider Kyle Hewitt is only weeks away from taking on the world with his bike. Setting off from London on 18th February he will be circumnavigating the globe with the aim of setting a new record for the fastest completion of the journey.

Attired in Altura Technical Bikewear and Luggage he has been training hard for months now and is excited to finally cross the start line and begin what is sure to be an incredible adventure.

The Altura Whinlatter Mountain Bike Challenge is the perfect event to give you the motivation to keep you heading out on the bike through the winter.

Held on 25th March it's a 30 mile mountain bike endurance event which will test your skills, strength and stamina to the limit. Fortunately for those riders not so keen on such a tough day out there is a shorter ride at 17 miles.The events are at the Altura Trail which features some of the best riding to be had anywhere in the country with some outstanding single track and incredible views.

Team Sportscover Altura got together the refreshed 2012 squad for some early season training and a team meeting on Sunday 20th November.

The day started early with Robin Puplett (Altura Marketing Manager) distributing some Altura Ergofit winter training kit which was well received and instantly united the team. Resplendent in their new clothing the team set out for a steady 90km ride accompanied by a support vehicle and photographer to document the day. After a late cafe stop to warm up and refuel the riders headed back to team HQ for showers and then a meeting lead by Ashley Brown (Team Manager) to discuss in-depth the year ahead.

The day was a great kick start to the year ahead and with team morale sky high every rider left with a clear plan for what will hopefully turn out to be a successful season of racing.

Altura photographer Sam Needham has put together a light hearted film which takes us through into the Autumnal rustle. The idea of the film is to portray the essence of good old fashioned fun on a bike. Mountain biking isn't always about being out for hours on end, or pushing your own limits to another level. Sometimes an hour after work, up in the woods, getting a drift on and sliding your way to a smile is the best ride you can have.

The film features the Altura Attack Softshell Jacket, Attack ¾ Waterproof Shorts, Attack Gloves and Altura Supplex Comp Socks.
