Whether you need a dedicated Rear Rack for using with Pannier Bags or one simply for just carrying the occasional small load using a few ‘bungee straps' on a daily commute, you probably can't go far wrong with this very well-made and well-designed Tortec Rack.Generally speaking, not all Rear Racks are quite the same and the cheaper ones tend to be heavier and not very well-finished and can be fiddlier to fit. In my own experience of using several different Racks though over the years, I'd say that this Tortec Super Tour Rack is one of the best Rear Racks out there and one of the best that I've ever used for sure.In addition to being very well made, it's also very nicely finished and looks very stylish in its satin black finish. Its well-thought-out design also means it's pretty straight-forward to fit to any bike having the necessary fixing holes (or ‘bosses’) in the frame. This Rack comes with a handful of the necessary standard Metric M5 fixing screws (of a few varying lengths), which I'd say are suitable for attaching it to most bikes, however, if you maybe need to buy some longer ones for example for your particular bike frame - there are lots of Metric M5 Machine Screws (which is the ISO Standard Size used for the ‘bosses’ of virtually all modern bikes for mounting Racks and Mudguards etc), readily available online in STAINLESS STEEL and in different lengths which can be purchased (in small pack quantities of 4-10) for the price of a beer. (N.B. If the fixings screws used to attach the Rack to the frame are too long, they can interfere with the chain movement around the rear hub.)The ‘solid platform’ or top of this cleverly designed Rack also serves as a very effective Rear Mudguard when needed, and it will definitely help block a lot of muddy-spray from getting all over your clothing and under the saddle at times. The 'Mounting Plate' on the rear of the Rack in addition, provides a handy place to attach a rear bike light for night riding. In many ways this Rack is very similar to the 'Specialized Elite Rear Rack', but given that this Tortec model is quite a bit cheaper, it has to represent much better value for money.Overall, this is a great product and one which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a practical, well-designed and well-made Rear Rack.
